Cambridge-ESOL Courses assessed and run by UCLES, the British Council and IELTS Australia: IDP Education Australia.
Aims and Objectives/Expected Outcomes
To ensure that students acquire the language proficiency at Upper-intermediate level and pass the examination with at least a grade 5.; and to prepare students for the examination requirements with regard to Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing at Upper-Intermediate level
Target Students/Admission Requirements
Adult foreign and local students from ages 16 and above who have completed secondary education and who wish to sit for the IELTS Examinations; students who wish to enter undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Students who wish to acquire the language for commerce or industry.
Content
Grammar or Language Use, Reading Comprehension, Listening Comprehension, Oral expressions and Written Expression. Practice and materials that train and teach students for the Academic Reading and Academic Writing Papers of the IELTS examinations.
REWARD Course books and materials at Upper-Intermediate Level (by Simon Greenall, Macmillan/Heinemann) as a text of study to learn and acquire language skills. (see attached.)
Insight into IELTS by Vanessa Jakeman and Claire McDowell (CUP): a text for the practice of IELTS examination skills and specimen papers.
Total Duration/Weekly Instruction Times
Fulltime students: One year;
Daily lessons (Mondays to Fridays); 09.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. or 12.00 p.m. to 3.00 p.m.
